Sponge iron, also known as direct reduced iron, uses high-quality ore, uses the principle of redox reaction, and is removed by filtration method.
The dissolved oxygen content of water in the pipeline, boiler and oxygen circulating water can be reduced to 0.05mg/L below. In a rotary kiln, shaft furnace or other reactor, using iron, coke, natural gas or hydrogen, the iron ore or iron concentrate pellets are reduced at a low temperature below the melting temperature of the material to become a porous product. The iron that has been reduced is a small iron core, shaped like a sponge, so it is called Sponge Iron. Sponge iron can be cooled, crushed and magnetically selected to remove gangue or other impurities (metal iron accounts for more than 90% of total iron, and can be directly used for steel making; below 90% for blast furnace or electric furnace iron making).
